The College of Economics and Management (CEM) ,which is a newly built institution (the combination of the College of Economics and Management at Northwest Agriculture University, the department of Economics and Management, and the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics in Shaanxi Agricultural Science Institution ) in July of 2000, is one of the biggest college in Northwest A&F University. Our college boasts of long standing which can call back the major of Agricultural Economics and Management in Northwest National Agro-forestry Higher Specialized School founded in 1934. In past few years, our college is experiencing gradually development.
1936: the teaching group of agricultural economics was built.
1981: authorized to confer master and bachelor's degrees in Agricultural Economics and Management.
1983: authorized to confer doctoral degree in Agricultural Economics and Management.
1992: enroll the post-doctoral research staffs in Center for Agronomic Post-Doctoral Studies
1996: authorized to confer master's degree in Finance.
1998: authorized to set up Center for Post-Doctoral Studies in Agricultural Economics and Management.
1999: authorized to set up the teaching station of Shaanxi MBA College.
2000: authorized to confer doctoral degree in Agro-forestry Economics and Management with the first class disciplinarity.
2000: authorized to confer doctoral degree in Forestry Economics and Management.
2000: authorized to confer master's degree in Forestry Economics and Management.
2000: authorized to confer master's degrees in Agricultural Advance, and Training Teaching Staffs in agricultural secondary technical schools.
2003: authorized to confer doctoral degree in Agricultural Technical Economics and Project Management.
2003: authorized to confer Master's degree in Agricultural Technical Economics and Project Management.
2003: authorized to confer Master's degree in Land Resource Management.
2003: authorized to confer Master's degree in Regional Economics.
2003: authorized to confer master's degree on Training Teaching Staffs for higher educational institution.
The CEM has a strong teaching staff, with 122 staffs including 15 professors, 25 assistant professors, as well as 10 advisors of PH. D. students, 23 advisors of master's students. It comprises 5 departments including Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, and Agro-forestry Economics and Public Management, offering 10 majors which are agro-forestry Economics and Management, Finance, Land Resource Management, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Electronic Commerce, International Economics and Trade, Traveling management, and Non-governmental Public Management. Up to now, the CME has cultivated 482 research staffs including 3 post-doctoral researchers, 138 PH. D. students, and 341 graduate students. Also, over 8000 undergraduates and junior college students are working hard to flourish the national economy in all circles.
